Every 2026 Subaru Crosstrek is built around a powerful engine designed to maximize performance and efficiency. The former 2.0-liter engine has been discontinued, and the more powerful 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER engine with 180 hp is now standard across all regular Crosstrek trims. For an elevated experience in fuel economy and performance, the new 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid is equipped with a next-generation series-parallel hybrid system, a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER engine, and a high-capacity lithium-ion battery, producing an estimated 194 hp combined. All models feature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive for optimal traction and stability.

Towing Tenacity

The 2026 Crosstrek is more capable than most of its rivals when it comes to off-road performance. The standard maximum towing capacity for most trims is 1,500 pounds. However, the rugged Crosstrek Wilderness trim offers an increased towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. All models come standard with Dual-Function X-MODE®, which optimizes engine output, transmission ratio, and the all-wheel-drive system to provide optimal traction on low-friction surfaces. This system includes Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud modes, and the Wilderness trim boasts an impressive 9.3 inches of ground clearance.

Advanced Driver Digital Interface

The top-tier Crosstrek models, including the Sport Hybrid and Limited Hybrid, elevate the driving experience with an advanced digital interface. The hybrid models are equipped with a large 12.3-inch configurable fully-digital instrument cluster. This high-resolution screen provides key information at a glance, including displays for hybrid system operation, EyeSight® status, and navigation integration. This modern setup replaces the traditional analog gauges found in the lower trims.

Inside Ingenuity:Comfort and Connectivity

The Crosstrek's innovative interior technology brings convenience and connectivity right to your fingertips. The Base trim comes standard with the Subaru dual 7.0-inch Multimedia System, while the Premium trim and above get the upgraded Subaru 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus System. The 11.6-inch system includes wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. For a premium feel, the Limited trim features leather-trimmed upholstery and a standard heated steering wheel. The cabin is practical and roomy, offering standard 60/40-split flat-folding rear seatbacks.
